4wd not working

looked at a 89 ranger cheap and the 4wd does not work.
its on the fly how much to fix it and what is needed?
would it be cheaper to put hubs on it? let me know.

Have you looked at the tech library "Troubleshooting" section? Might be hubs. THen it's $100 to replace.

Could be shift motor too (if it has one). They can be often fixed (ie, cleaned contacts) for free. http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/TCaseshiftmotor.htm
