I have a 94 Ford Ranger extended cab 4.0. The four wheel drive is not working, and I was wondering if anyone had any trouble shooting ideas for me. I have checked the fuses under the hood and dash, and my control module is good. The electronic shift motor does not engage, and the switch will not light up. Aside from checking each wire individually, does anyone have any ideas? And do you know if the motor is not working will the switch still light up?
( I have seen the page that is a sort of guide as to which wires to check and where. At this time I do not have, and can't afford, the tools required to check these wires, and want to do that as a last resort).

Try bypassing the switch..
Or straight wiring (with a fuse) to the wire that needs to be hot to engage the shifting. Idk if this can be done or not... Look into it.
