Ok so I read a bit (even used the Search feature!!) and I found out a little. I have the electric 4WD switch, I switch it to 4hi, the computer clicks, light comes on..four wheel drive doesn't engage. Now Rangers from 2002 and up don't have hubs, right? So should I use the jack it up and spin the front drive shaft manually, see if the front tires spin, etc? And if that's the case then the hubs are shot? And what all would I need to convert to manual hubs, since they're stronger and more reliable? Thanks everyone!

sounds like already know all you need to, and the hubs you're looking for are from AVM. They're about 100 on ebay.

but would all i need to buy is the hubs themselves, or do i need to buy anything else?

ok I'm not a mechanic here, I'd have to tear it apart and look, but I buy the hubs, and then...they just switch out? Sorry, is there a tech write up on it? But how difficult is it to convert?

Never mind, just read your last post!! thanks Randy
