4wd help

new member to this forum and trucks kinda, well i was in 4wd in reverse and all the sudden i had fluids leaking, something busted. not sure if its the t case or tranny. the color of oil had a gold tint but was thicker than engine oil aND lighter than gear oil. i need to know what could of happened , what needs to be fixed and cost thanks.

my truck 94 ranger 4.0l auto tranny

Kinda hard to see from here....you're going to need to do some investigating on your own first before we can help you...some pics would be helpful too.

If it was transmission or transfercase fluid they would be red.

^ they "should" be red. if there was a po perhaps something else was dumped in either the tc, tranny, or both. so many threads here where others are using synthetics, motor oil, etc.
just a thought.
