i broke 4 axles on the front end of my truck. i have the 3.0 liter with stock gears an 33s. i cant figure out what the reason for this an wanted to know if having my torsion bars tightened would cause this??? all of the axles have broke at the cv joint. :pissedoff:

Not doggin on you or anything, but its probably just driving habits.... Those CV's are not very strong at all and 33's are puttin tons of strain on the front end. If you have a lift, it will also make the shaft angles a lot steeper unless you have drop brackets.

you must have them maxed. or something is out of whack and loose or bent.

they usually break on stock applications only when locked with it fully stretched...

i would rather have a jeep axle then sla, so you know my solution.:stirthepot:

It's just the way of SLA.

CV's are just weak, and adding 33's and maybe cranking the torsoin bars(affecting the angle of the shafts) could cause this breakage.

I'd say either mega-turd polish and buy stronger shafts (if even available), SAS, or see if there is anything really wrong with your truck.

i wouldnt say cv's are weak. those cv's when maxed are weak.

the cv shafts i want to buy are anything but weak. i cant wait to be able to write that check:icon_hornsup:

Ok, yeah. CV's aren't exactly weak. But once you crank the t-bars and put the excessive angles on them, they are just that more easy to break.

I have a '98 3.slow with 33's and 4.56's with a locker up front and I haven't broken any CV's YET...so chances are something isn't right.
