4r55e problems

My 4r55e in my 96 Mazda B4000 has the 2nd to 3rd flare, and also has a noticeable delay when putting it in reverse. It takes at least two to three seconds to engage.

I have seen people talking about a Ford fix of some sort. Will it fix my problems most likely?
And is it a kit? If so, where can I find it? (Google came up dry)
