4R55E is acting like it's trying to quit. Can't get a logical reading on the dipstick, leaking tranny fluid, O/D light flashing, and transmission slip

My truck is a 95 with a 4.0 OHV and a 4R55E with 259.8k on the clock. I'm not sure if the trans is original, but I have no reason to suspect otherwise.

So far my symptoms are as follows:

* Can't get an logical read from the dipstick (It constantly reads approx. double where the full line is on the dipstick. Adding tranny fluid has little to no affect on the reading)
* Leaking Tranmission fluid where the motor meets the trans. I'm also leaking oil from there so maybe this is another symptom of my main seal?
* Heavy shifting (kicking hard, like the kind of shift you'd expect from a novice with a 5spd)
* Retarded Shifting (It'll jump into OD going up a hill or drop all the way to second trying to pass on the interstate when third would be appropriate)
* Losing gear entirely (starts free revving, will kick into gear extremely hard for a second or two and then drop again. It seems to do this more often the first few miles I drive it. Usually coming to stop and restarting will let me get going again)
* O/D Light is flashing (I haven't hooked a code reader to it yet, but I'll report back once I have the chance).

My current theories are:

* Bad sensors causing the computer to order illogical shifts.
* A blockage preventing tranny fluid from reaching certain parts of the tranny, causing the dipstick to read badly.
* A failed solenoid.

Any input? I really can't afford a new transmission or a rebuild. Right now I'm just hoping I manage to get that rear seal replaced.
