I was doing some reasearch on what transmission my automatic 2.5 1999 ford ranger has and I believe its the 4R44E. can anyone confirm or dny this? I'm maybe gonna look for another one in the future

The 4r44e was the replacement to the older style transmissions. I know they were used in 4.0 vehicles during that time frame. Not sure if they were used with the smaller engines. The easiest way to tell is to crawl under the truck. The 4r44e has a large plug that sticks out sideways from the drivers side(I think). It is about 1 inch x 1 inch square. The older transmissions do not have this plug.

Yes, it's a 4r44e. If you want another one it must be from a 95-00 4 cyl.
