I have a 87 ranger 2wd and this guy said he would sell me a 4inch rough country 4x4 lift because it will fit my 2wd and he's going me a good deal. Will this fit my truck?

It's for the same year but be said he bought it for a 4x4 ranger

I know that rear lift will fit because I have one and its just blocks in the back. The front lift I don't know if ur will work. Depending on the price you could buy it and try and make it work.

$250 brand new in the box he wanted $300+ talked him down because its a 2 hour drive

2wd and 4wd are different setups, Bro. Wht suspension do you have o your truck? The part number is for a 4x4...not a 2wd. Just buy a lift for your truck so you know it will fit and get a warranty. Go to Ebay and see what you can get for under $300 with shipping for a 2wd.
Get an idea what prices are and shop around. You 'gonna put it on yourself? If not, go to a shop that will sell you a kit and install it for you. Taller coil springs and rear-add-a-leafs will work great to get some lift.

But 2" is as high you can go in the front without getting into steering adjustments right?

Also, any lift over about 2" requires a drop pitman arm to return steering geometry to normal.

That's what I was aiming at, I know you're supposed to get can alignment done but I was reffering to the geometry of the steering.

Alright turns out the guy lied to me about them being the same but I called again and he said I can order 2wd brackets and that the shocks and rear lift and pitman arm are the same throughout the 2wd and 4wd rangers so $250 brand new in the box plus I just ordered 2wd brackets for $112 shipped so $362 for a 4 inch lift saved about $100 I think since it's like 440-450 plus shipping for that lift but if anyone needs 4wd rough country brackets let me know cuz I have them brand new in the box and will give em cheaper then rough country will sell them to you thanks for the info guys

And I was already thinking about putting 2" coil spacers and add a leaf for some extra height on top of the 4" lift currently my truck is lowered and the guy cut the coils and never aligned it and the tires sit at an angle so I got a flat after rotated tires for awhile but now I have the 4" lift to put on and a set of Goodyear wraner 265/75/16 me and a buddy will be putting it on and ill have a shop align it after we're done installing it

Idk if its the same as the 4x4 kit but my 4" was more like a 6". So you might wanna wait in the washer lift.

I'm interested to see what gains you end up with, I will be installing the same kit soon. I too was going to use my spacers and add a leaf. ( Hoping 5" lift will clear 31's in my tiny wheel wells)

PS Can I get notified if some one responds to this thread ?

Just wondering if this would work, I got a 4 inch lift and I want to put a 2 inch level kit front to back, would it work or would it be too much of a angle on the u joints and drive shafts?
