i have researched it on the ranger station but have not found anything about this topic.
i have a 84 4x4 2.8 ranger with a c5. i blew out the forward gears of the transmission the other day and i cant find any c4,5 or 6s but a buddy knows where what he thinks to be an 85 4x4 4 cyl. 2.0 (i think) 5 speed ranger (meaning its a mitsubishi FM145) now unless its not an 85 my choices are a toyo koygo - code 5 and if he is mistaken and its 4 speed then toyo koygo - code x.
im going to look at it tonight after work but was going to see if anyone on here had ever done or heard of any of these transmissions on a 2.8. like i said id rather not switch from auto to stick just because of ease but im being left with no choice and my semester is gona be starting in a couple weeks.
thanks bubbys

Welcome to TRS.
A 4 cylinder will not fit inside a v-6! Sorry, had to.
The c4, c5, TK4, TK5, and FM145 all have removable bell housings. Any one of them can be switched back and forth between 4 and 6 cyls. You just need all the corresponding parts for the right engine.

alright. now whatever i get the tranny from has to be 4x4 right?
