460 swap

if its a 351m you might as well wrap a chain around it and throw it over a d@mn boat. there nothing but boat anchors. now ifs its a 351w or 351c your good. but why so big swap a 302 with a set of gt40 heads on it with a double pump holly or demon 4bbl carb. with like a 300lift cam and a set of headers shell be bad ass.

as for you question why so big? where i'm from it's go big and do it right the first time and you don't regret it later on down the road.

Then go with a stroker 351w and get 427 cubes and have a truck that will handle alot better and fit alot easier and will make the same HP if not more with a little less torque.:headbang:

I did a little research and and i was concerned that the guy was full of it, but he say he swapped in the engine and transmission from a 1996 f-250 or f-350. the only v-8 option for the town car in these years was the 351W or M i'm not quite sure which.
Ford last made the "M" in 1979 and discontinued it in cars in 1975. Unless you have some deep pockets and good fabrication skills, I'd sure stick with a 302/351, stroke it if you really want the power.

The last 351M/400's were in the 82 model year. The FIRST year of the 351M was in 75.

WOW, a 300 lift cam is smaller than the stock cams. :icon_rofl: And a double pumper Holley doesn't necessarily make it any faster. They come in many different sizes, get one too big for the build and it'll fall flat on it's face the second you nail the ego pedal from a dead stop.

'82 was the last year in trucks, but I think they pulled the plug on them in cars before that. If I remember right, production ended before the final model year of vehicle they went in... they were leftovers from a year or two before.

Right, :icon_thumby:

The M's ended in 78 In most cars, 79 For the LTD II/Tbird, and 82 For trucks.
