I am looking to get my truck tuned by Henson Performance down in Alabama, and James has told me to go ahead and get 42# injectors instead of 30# just in case I ever need the more fuel. Problem is, I can't find any injectors that are the same height as mine. The ones I have are the "Fat Bodied" injectors and from what Summit shows, the injectors for a Ranger compared to a Mustang are a little different in the o-ring size and the length also. Does anyone know where I can get some injectors to work? Thanks for the help. Brad

42# injectors on a 4.0....what for?

Even 24# would be more than you could use in a 4.0, unless you're running some kind of massive blower.

yea really a stock 5.0 mustang has a 19# injector and thats a v8 with about 225hp and those are good up to i think 300hp if im not mistaken so a 42# injector holy cow thats a HUGE injector for a 4.0 V6 subru STI i dont even think has an injector that big.

Come to think on it, I don't see how a 4.0 would even run on a 42# injector. The duty cycle would be so short, it wouldn't even fire at idle. It'd have to run at WOT to even allow the injector to fire.

i think it wouldnt even run at WOT it would prolly flood out and die and you would prolly get pre detintion and could tear up your motor

You need EV1 injectors. I agree with the others, 30# injectors should be sufficient for most builds...42# injectors come in s/c cobras and lightnings. Share your build ideas.

And No, STi's have 565cc injectors. That equates to a ~54# injector.

i have the ford racing 42 lbs injectors in my 4.0 build. most of the power built 4.0s use those green top injectors.

they allow you to go bigger if you want to, otherwise, i probably would of went with the 30 lbs red top ones
