I don't even know where to start with this....
The stock axles, steering, and brakes will not handle 40's, period. Even a Dana 44 will not handle 40's for very long.
Also with a 5 speed and 3.55's you will not even be able to get it rolling, which would probably be a good thing.

That was ment as the Stock 3.55 Rear that came with the
5 Speed Rangers.. It is a C4 Auto.. With Stock 3.55 Rears...

What would/should I beef up to Run the 40s??? (4.10s coming)

Thanx,
Rob

You need lower than a 4.10 for sure. As far as what to beef up i'm new to the fixing up my ranger and can't help as far as what to beef up and what will break.

I will tell you that my 02' f150 had 3.55's stock and i have 38.5/15-16 boggers on it now with 5.13's in the rear and it's still not low enough for really good off road performance! So i would say go with a 5.13 or lower at least.

Am I missing something here???

Its a STOCK 92 Mustang 5.0, With a Carb..

"B Man" I will just stay with 4.10..

I know the 4.10s wont be enought for some guys..
I have had 3 Lifted Rangers.. All had Stock 3.55s
2 were 2.9 1 was a 4.0.. All of them were over
120,000 miles...

302 C-4 n 4.10s will be Good from me..

I know it would be as Good as my
83 Chevy with the 73 Buick 455 Gs
1 Motor 340 hp 460 TQ.. But It will do...

Thanx,
Rob

gl man......if ur happy with 4.10's and 40's then ur not wheelin hard enough....

trust me, when i built my old small block ranger on eb rears i cheaped out and ran the stock 3.55 gears.....it was gutless as hell, but good for a cruiser, i dropped in some 4.88's and it did pretty damn well....oh ya it was on 38.5 gumbos

40" Tires on a Ranger

It just hit me... Because there Cheap,
They will only be something like 38"s..

Im guessin that with a 302, C-4, 4.10s..
36" or 38" Tires would be a good match?

Thanx,
Rob

I'd still go with 4.56 or 4.88's. The front end will break in no time, so it won't matter a lot.
