400 miles out of one tank

My 99 Ranger XLT lifted 2wd gets 24 mpg on the highway with 33x12.5 KO BFG tires, a 4.10 rear gear and with a Yakima roof rack at 70 mph. Around down in stupid stop and go traffic I get 18-19 mpg. I have gone over 400 on a tank of gas several times. Just don't like to since the fuel pump works and last longer with more gas in the tank....keeps the pump cooler.

has the 16 gallon tank.driving was blended between city and highway.112,003 k on it.5 speed manual.p 205 75 r 14 tires with 35 pounds of air pressure.running e 10 regular gas.truck color is red.no mods at all.

If i keep the Rat under 70, it will get 21MPG So that works out to about 400 miles per tank I have put over 19 gallons into it before. 4.0, 5spd. 3.27 axles

andy how do you do it cause i have the same gears/engine/tranny and i get 11 highway at best and 8-9 in town

To tell the truth , I dont know. I have only really been driving the Rat since 4/12, before that it was laid up getting fixed. The plugs and wires came on it, I just changed the oil and filters. The 21 MPG was a tank on I 90 on the way to Toronto. I was in no hurry, so I poked along at 65 in the right lane . The Rpm was about 2K 235 75 15s stock 4x4 This was a 1300 mile road trip to check out the Rat. It goes well enough so that I'm not messing with it. A bad front end alignment will steal MPG, so will lifts and big tires. I also keep off the brakes by not following too close

ok lol my front end is allined bad and before that i was getting 19-20 hwy so thats what it is probably
