400 miles! Congrats! I would have needed at least one pit-stop :icon_rofl:

Awesome. My POS gets about half that.

Like more info please, Manual or Auto, 16 gal or 20 gal tank? I'm guessing Manual and the 20 gallon'er, lol.

I'm pretty sure newer Rangers only came with a 17 gallon tank.

and im pretty sure he said 5 speed haha oh and i only get 150miles to tank with my 92 ford expo 4x4 4.0

509 why is your mileage so bad on your explorer? Shouldn't it get at least 350 miles per tank? Guessing its got some serious issues to be doing that bad for you that really sucks I know how that is though when the carb on my 84 ranger was messed up I would go through 1/4 of a tank of gas to go from my house to school 4 miles away because it ran so bad.

Only if it was downhill both ways........(just picking)

i really don't know y but going from my house to bothell(332 miles) it costs me 140 in gas to get there and back and that is with gas being $3.08-3.27

At least since 1993 reg cab 6' got a 16.5-17 (varied between years) gal, reg cab 7' got a 20gal (all years) and SuperCabs got a 19.5-20 (also varied between years) gal tank.

and im pretty sure he said 5 speed haha
Looking back, I see that now.

Cool. Once upon a time I got 330 miles out of a tank in my Ranger. Now I am pushing it at 200. The change is largely due to my driving now. Before it was 30 miles of pure highway at a time, not it sees about 8 miles of city at time.

I'm guessing your truck has the 17gal fuel tank. Std cab, short bed?

I've done an extended range trip before. 500 miles on a single tank of fuel till the gauge hit "E". When I filled up, I still had 2 gallons left. This was on a 20gal fuel tank.

Think driving habits, whether city or hiway, and ethanol have big effect on it. I tried experiment driving really conservative, slower and shifting lower, no downshifting to slow down etc. and got crappier mileage than just not caring and driving "normal" in my 2.9 5 speed.
I go between 250 - 300 before filling up 17 gallon tank

That is pretty good! I forget what I was getting with my manual 2.5 but almost 350 miles on interstate. Looked at the spec's for a 2000 Ranger and it shows 16.5 gals for a SWB and 20 for the LWB. Some of these new cars get amazing mileage.
