4-wheel drive lights blinking???

driving home just now i looked on my cluster and every so often they 4wd hi and low lights would blink at the same time. first they blinked 6 times, then 6 times, then 3 times, then 4 times, then 6 times. i ahve a 98 4.0 auto with man hubs. any ideas? thanks

Did you add the manual hubs yourself?

ya one of the factory auto hubs was shot and leaking so my air was all messed up. used the AVM ones and all winter they worked great and still do. went to the farm i hunt and had to use 4WD in the fields form all the rain we had and they definately worked or i wouldnt be sittin here now lol

Cool.glad to hear those avms worked for you. i want a set but someone told me i have to get 97 and earlier wheels so they fit through the center and i dont have the $ for the wheels and hubs right now. After having this issue did you try using 4wd?

yes i did use 4WD and it seemed to work. and i dont know what ur talkin bout them not fittin through the wheels. i got stock rims on my 98 and they fit fine. i even cut out the hub caps so i can have the look of them without removing them to engage them

Thats why i was askin i must have recieved bad information. looks like this weekend ill be making a trip to the online store to order me some AVM hubs if they're not on backorder!

As for the lights, i had shift servo lock up on my honda foreman once because i submerged it in mud for 5 minutes then water for 10. Just rinsed whole under body with a pressure washer, let it dry, and it worked great, so maybe it was just a one time thing for you to

ya the only down side of the avm's ive found was the outrageous price! but theyre really nice and smooth. i payed like $180 for the set
