4 Low In Reverse

The other night i got stuck and had to use 4 low to get out but when i punched it to just throw mud it started to do a loud "hit" motion. still got out just had to crawl slow out of it. Did i possibly mess the 4 low up or was it just an error on my part. Boggers dont require 4 low often
