I need coil springs for a 4"lift, I want a softer ride than the superlift ones i have. What are some good ones? How about jeep coils?

Unless you are going to go to a dual shock setup and install a modified Superunner steering, stick with the Skyjacker RBV coils.

duff 3.5"s and spacers would be softer than the jackers, they are very stiff

The duff coils sag out way to quickly. Stick with the skyjacker. All coils will loosen up with use.

Skyjackers and Duff's are almost exactly the same as far as spring rate. The Skyjackers are right at 400PPI.

Skyjacker's 4" ones are closer to 450PPI, but still much softer than Superlift's.

they don't like a lot of weight, his 4 banger truck should be fine.

no,the two coils are the same unsprung height (about 17") but the duffs give more than an inch less lift making them flexier. call skyjacker, you'll find out those coils are 480ppi,the 6"ers are 435ppi

. this is the 2nd set of 4" lift coils(skyjacker) i have had and both times i have ended up with 5-6" of lift :icon_confused:

i looked into reaching 4 inches recently and the evidence points away from the 4" jackers for flex and ride.call superlift i bet their rate isen't much more than the skyjackers.

I've had both Superlift and Skyjacker 4" coils before. The Superlift is indeed WAAAYY stiffer.

My SJ 4"ers only yielded 3" lift for me (maybe even a tad less), I had to use spacers (much the same as the 6"ers only yielding 4.5" lift in many cases).

On my V6 ext. cab, I ran used Duff 3" coils and F-150 spacers for a while. This combo was just barely short than some Trailmaster 4" springs I tried without spacers. I noticed no difference in height when I swapped in the SJ 6" springs.

with or without a winch and higher offset wheels?heavier third gen truck?that will account for the 1.5" sag.there have been more than one first and second gen trucks with way too much lift out of the skyjacker 4"ers.plus the high ppi rating=:lame:

the 2.5"ers or the 3"ers? i'm really interested what the new 5.5" duff's settle out to.i'm not a huge fan of the 6" jackers, been there done that.

The bad thing is, Duff wont sell their RBV springs separate from a kit. When I called last week to see what their PPI was, they said they don't give that information out because the RBV is the only spring they don't sell without buying a kit.

there are ways around it.like having me or somebody else who has a kit buy them for you.once you have their stuff(the base kit) you can swap parts ,get replacements and upgrade as much as you want:icon_thumby:.the only thing that torques me is the fact i got their spring rates from them when they were in washington and now the tards in kentucky or wherever are tight lipped about it.it was near 400 ppi but i can't remember and i wish i'de wrote it down.

What is the ppi on the Superlift 5.5" coils? Cause that's what I was running they are stiiiiiiffff!!

Superlift is really stiff. Not sure on the exact number but I think the 4" spring is around 600PPI or something like that. I got a set of used 6" skyjacker coils, they supposedly net about 4.5" of lift after settling on a gen. 3. Also to produce a much more comforatable ride.

I was told they were 3"ers. They were used on a Gen 3 Ext Cab 4.0 truck with a winch bumper before me.... so the top tighter loops barely had any space between em. They still rode nice and flexed well though.
