How bad would it look if I removed my 3" body lift leaving the 4" suspension lift and put on a set of 31" all terrains?

i think it would be good man i only have a leveling kit with 31's i like it alot. I plan to get a 4 inch suspension lift and keep the 31's too so i would say go for it. Worst case scenerio you don't like it so u put the body lift back in.

i would do 32s and take off the body lift and it would look great

I think it would look stupid. If you take off the bl and leave the 4 inch lift, just run 32's or 33's. 31's would just look stupid with that much lift. I run 32's on my Samurai with a 4 inch lift.
the samurai is a different vehicle though. but i agree, it would look dumb. get some 33's. you can run the 31's with a stock suspension

My 97 is stock with 31" tires and a factory 2" lift, you can take a look at my sig link to see what it looks like. I agree, 4 inches of lift will make it look weird...

I want to down size for 2 main reason.
1. The truck is a work truck and it's pretty hard to work out of being so big. (loading lumber, riding lawn mowers, getting tools out of the tool box, etc....)
2. Gas mileage is no where near what I was told by the po that it was and I do to much driving to not be getting better gas mileage.

For the gas mileage, my 97 w/ the 4.0 gets 20 mpg on the highway. Not sure what mileage you are getting out of your truck right now, but if you returned it to bone stock, you will not fare better than 20 on the highway, and mixed driving I get anywhere from 14- 17mpg. Just some thoughts...

i assume the 4 inch lift is taking the place of the factory 2 inch lift. so u just have 4 inches on suspension, not 6.
if so, it wont look bad with 31s.
