Ok so I just got a 93 four cylinder and I have a 97 t bird with the 4.6 thats wrecked in the front corner, the bird still drives and runs good but I know its darn near worthless. Whats involved in swapping the 4.6 in the ranger?

Alot.
It has been done but you will need wiring diagrams from both vehicles and study them both. Also you may need to do custom headers too.
I own the same year tbird as you and they are fun to drive. If doing a 4.6 swap, put the PI heads and intake on the tbird engine before doing it. The PI intake alone it's worth 10-15 rwhp. Plus doing the PI intake and head swap don't need to computer to be tuned either.
