4 banger explorer?

So I was talking to a friend this weekend, and we are seriously discussing the idea of building a truck for off road use only. I was wondering if anyone has put a Lima series into an explorer or a b2. This truck would be pretty much completely stripped, and I prefer the Limas, as they are one of the few RBV motors that you can run 100% computerless. I was thinking of running a propane carb (easy for me to get, they used these on gensets), and a pinto points type dist. I figure it would probably bolt in fairly easily. I know that it would be lacking a little in the power dept, but that's what gearing is for.

The duraspark conversion will allow the 2.8 to run without a computer.

i had an 89 b2 with the 2.3 emissions stickers though it had a 2.9.
doesn't sound any different than building a 4 runner,like you said gearing and maybe a doubler will be your best friends.i'de stay away from the sploder with that lima though

i kind of like the gutless wheeling,its all crawl and finesse

You can build a LIMA to have any power level you want. 1000s of race cars with big HP numbers running LIMAs. All depends on how much money you want to spend.
