would 4.88s & 33s eat my mpg i drive 80/20 city/highway,tow a trailer once in a while,& have around 300 lbs constantly in the back. right now im averaging 18-19 w/ 3.73s & 235s

i got a good deal on a rear but my truck can only fit 33s(2in lift) & i dont want to go any higher.

ive looked at the rpm chart, but just want others opinion

In my opinion, I'd rather be over then undergeared. If your doing mostly city driving, then you will enjoy the lower gears, and you'll just find yourself using a higher gear then you used to. Even 2" of lift may be low for 33's though, unless you stick to skinny's on stock wheels.

Oh, and you say you only want 33's now.....but we all know how that goes. I started with 31's, then 33's and now 35's. Now I'm lookin at a set of cut 38 boggers....lol

wahlstrom1-i also have trimmed fenders,& had 33x12.50s on there b4,so i know they'll fit atleast on 15x8s

but yea i know i want 35s,just gotta wait till i get another daily so i can full width this one.

i thought you were puttin on 37 claws?

I wouldn't hesitate to throw 4.88's and 33's together. You'll have the power to break tires loose just punching it in first and should be able to grab rubber hard into second. You'll also be able to hold overdrive on hills etc, so thats always a bonus. I've found that I'd rather trade off higher RPM with less load then lugging at low RPM on highways.

Bought them and sold them, made decent cash too, lol....Gonna keep the krawlers for DD'n and get something bigger for more ground clearance/traction on the trail.
