O.k Just finished replacing a rotted exhaust manifold on a 2003 f150. Lets just say there is a reason repair shops charge $500 to do the job. Every thing went fairly smoothly but not quickly. If your are planning on doing this job take your time and penetrant and heat are your best friends. My suggestion is if the studs look good don't change them just because you have new ones just run a 8mm 1.25 die or chaser down them and install new nuts. One more tip is if you don't have access to torches don't even consider doing it yourself.

You forgot the anti-sieze. Lots of it on the side of the stud in the head, none on the nut. Then it should bring the stud out easy the next time you have to do it.
