4.10s stock w/ 4.0?

No, 4.10s were not available with the 4.0L until at least '98. 3.73 was most common, but 3.27 is also possible.

Seems most autos got the 3.55 ratio and the 5spds got the 3.73 ratio mostly behind the 4.0

I have an 04 4.0 5spd and want to know my ratio. Any ideas?

Check out the axle tag on the rear end. It's on a bolt holding on the rear diff cover.

All of the explorers I've seen have been the opposite. Except the 3.27 ratio most if not all have been in the autos.

It's a toss up as to what it could be. but the 3 most popular ones are 3.27, 3.55 and 3.73

We've had 3 manual parts explorers and my manual explorer and all have been 3.27s, the 2 autos we've had had 3.73s and 3.55s.

I own a '95 B4000 Cab Plus 4x4 5-speed. It left the factory with 3.73s and limited slip. According to the 1995 Mazda Trucks Brochure I have that was the only ratio available in a B4000 with a manual trans and four wheel drive. Although yours may be different being that it's a '94

All the rbv's Ive had have had 3:73's except my 85 witch is a 4x4 4cyl, 5speed and it has 3:55's :icon_confused:

thanks for the replies.i was planning on buying these axles from a guy but he informed me that he was told they were 4.10s.& he said the tags are gone fornt & back.i wouldnt think someone would waste the money for a gear change just for 4.10s. so i guess ill pass on them.

If the tag is gone, it's quite possible they've been opened up before... I'd go check them out and see if they infact have been changed to a deeper ratio. Might get lucky and find 4.56 even.

that would be nice. but the truck is stock theyre are coming off of & the guy just had 31s on it. so i dont know.i guess ill take a look if he is close enough

You actually verified that both an "X" was present for the 8th VIN digit and "R7" or "97" for the axle code on the door sticker?

(I would've gotten a picture of that)
