4.10s stock w/ 4.0?


No, 4.10s were not available with the 4.0L until at least '98. 3.73 was most common, but 3.27 is also possible.

I've seen a '92 and a '96 explorer with D2 on the door and stopped to look at a '93 4.0, 5spd, 2wd, long box ranger with a for sale sign on it and a R7 door code.
 
With "X" as the 8th VIN digit??

I've never looked at vins unless I'am buying a truck [to make sure it has one, lol] I always look at the door tag first, axle tag second and if still in doubt, pull the cover. Going to have to start packing a camera and what does the "X" signify? 4.10?--cheers
