4.10 Gears

I would try 4wd.com or something like that. Gears are somewhat inexpensive, but be prepared to pay someone a pretty good amount if you don't know how to do it yourself.

Your best bet would be to find an axle that has 4.10s in it and swapping that in.

For gears, do NOT go cheap. I would stick with G2 or Yukon only. Drivetrainwarehouse.com has great prices on G2. That's what I bought.

If you can find a complete low mile rear end I would just buy that. If you buy the gear you will also need an install kit and the knowledge to put it in. I have been fortunate to have a buddy who does that for a living and helps me do it fro free. I would never do that install since I know if you goof up...you just wasted your money!!! So...If you have a shop do the install the parts and install are right about $500 for everything. It could be more or less but expect to pay around $500.

Low mile axles are easy to come by around here with 4.10s in them for some reason. The junkyard I got my expo axle out of had 5 ranger axles with 4.10s in them and 2 expo axles w/ 4.10s. One even had a L/S

East coast gear supply

Find an explorer 8.8 with 4.10's
Disc brakes. Stronger. Already geared.

If you buy: buy g2 or Yukon IMO. Warranty is AWESOME

Yes, but you also need to disclose "welding required"

I just got involved in a complicated swap deal (for a 2002 supercab roller frame)
where I wound up with a pair of 4.10 axles that I'm not sure I really want.

(For the purpose this truck is being built I really wanted 3.73's)

what front axle AllanD??? Lots of people would buy your 4.10 gears if the are for a D35 TTB....LIKE ME!!!! but i asume since its an 02 Frame its either IFS or SASed

people also need to learn and look up swap info on their own some to.. Not just assume everything is bolt in! :D

Yes, welding. Flip the spring perches to spring over axle setup and do something for shock tabs. Easy as pie... (just how easy is pie???)

Excuse me while I chide you for refering to the "SLA" suspension as "IFS"
Is not "TTB" is ALSO IFS? (Rhetorical question, because it damned well is)

And I said "2002 Roller frame" and on that you guessed correctly
It's a stock 2002 truck that's been "soft rolled" and I'm putting
my 1993 cab & Bed on that frame.

a Friend is putting a 1999 Quad cab on the 1993 frame my cab is
coming off of.

The reason for all this is because I want an AWD Ranger and the SLA suspension's
axle shafts and CV joints are more suitable for full time
4wd/AWD use than the TTB shafts, which would IMO grind themselves
into garbage too rapidly to justify even trying to use them...

I'm also planning on "back halfing" the frame to create a 7foot bed supercab,
but will probably do that later.

I know damned well what people will pay for a 4.10 D35 chunk I've never been
"stuck" with one I wanted to sell for more than a week.

Hell, even "Hybred" D28/35 4.10 chunks go quickly...

What do you mean by 1999 Quad cab? Do you mean a crew cab (four standard doors) or a supercab with two standard and two suicide doors?

US market, Suicide doors are the only game in US.

But I suppose suicide doors are better than no suicide doors.

Either way, not mine and not an option for me... I need to stick
with earlier (1993) electronics/wiring

I guess I was just wondering if maybe you (or your friend) had found a source for four (real) door cabs. Maybe importing it through the grey market or something...
