Maybe I asked to many ?'s the first post because I got Zero Replies.

Does anyone know what all vaccume I can remove from a 93 4.0l. I'm going to use this truck off road only.

Some of the smog equipment was already broken when i bought it and i would rather remove it all instead of replaceing things i'm not going to need off road.
Thank you.

You have a vacuum distribution block with 5 nipples used. They are:

Automatic Transmission (I'm guessing you NEED that one unless it's a stick shift).
Cruise Control (cap that byotch).
Power brake booster - Your call there, Slick. I'd keep it.
Manifold (Yep, that one supplies all the rest listed above - keep it)

There will be one that controls your heater/air conditioner vents, it goes to a checkvalve and vacuum reservoir (which is usually a black plastic sphere). You want heat and vent control? If so, keep it.

Then you have the manifold fitting that goes to engine / valve cover port. This is PCV which you should keep 100% of.

There really isn't anything on a 1993 4.0 that you can point to and
call it "emissions" equipment.

There is a vacuum feed to the heater controls as mentioned above

a fat vacuum line to the cruise control (if so equipped)

Another vacuum to the thermal valve in the air cleaner box
that controlls the air from the heat stove (speeds engine warmup in cold weather)

The Vacuum line that runs to the Fuel pressure regulator is an absolute necissity.

It won't gain you a damn thing to strip any of them off.

Thank you. well it's a stick shift all the A/C and heater are removed. Well there were some hoses hanging of the smog canisters or whatever they were that were all broken so I removed them and the canisters. what about the egr valve. Can it or should it be removed? Thanks Again

I see now you are in Cali?

I'd leave it alone, it's not that the engine will run better worse with the EGR removed/disconnected but the annoying light that will come on
(Removing the bulb WILL make the engine run like crap)

On a purely offroad vehicle that will never be driven on a public road
I'd go the extra mile and swap out the wiring harness and computer
with a 1993 49-state computer.
