I am getting down to some of the last minute detail on my engine swap. I need some guidance on the fuel line connection. The 93 Exp engine has two barided fuel lines both with a female SLC (spring lock coupling). One is a 1/2 inch and one with a 3/8 inch. The B2 engine has a male SLC and a female SLC. Both are 3/8 inch. What have been the past method for making this change in the fuel connection? Any suggestions?

When I did the 4.0 swap in my Ranger, I used the fuel lines from a 1990 BII from the fuel filter forward. Explorer will also work.

Plugged right in.

in other engine swaps i have performed (non rbv) i have cleanly cut the steel fuel lines with the slc fittings, cleanly cut the steel fuel rail line, and had them tig-welded together at the local muffler shop for $10. not saying this would work for a 4.0 swap having never done a 4.0 swap but it is my $.02

On the doner vehicle I had to cut the line on the body side. The SLC was so rusted that I needed to cut it and peel off the SLC cage.

i also was wondering about this, i did something for a temp use, but i was hoping to find and adapter of some sort. or just goto the junkyard and pull fuel lines.. :annoyed:

Time to go to the junkyard, or find someone on here who has an extra line. I'll have some in a couple of weeks, I'm getting a new parts truck.

Good luck

The lines from the Explorer back to the fuel filter *should* work.

I used the lines from the Fuel Filter forward from the donor on my 4.0 swap.
