Hope you guys can help me out!

I just Bought a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0L OHV it needed a tune up BAD. Changed Spark Plugs, Wires, Changed Oil, Oil Filter, Air Filter, and Gas Filter.
I started it up it ran rough! then a loud hissing sound followed by a loud pop. Blew a intake gasket my luck! so I bought all new gaskets, Lower Intake, Fuel rail(AKA Plenum Gasket) Valve cover gasket, Injector o-ring's TBI gasket, EGR gasket. I went all out. I cleaned every part. took my time putting back it together. go to start it NOTHING!!! :pissedoff: It wants to start when u first turn the key but just dies. i keep cranking and nothing. i checked all the vacuum hoses, Have Fuel Have Spark. Im pulling my hair out guys any suggestions with me must appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like maybe you've got some plug wires in the wrong spots on the coilpack. Double check them. Cylinder 1 is on the passenger side, at the front of the truck. Behind it are 2 then 3. Drivers side has 4 up front, with 5 then 6 behind it. The coil pack should have the cylinder numbers listed on top as well. Might have to clean it off a bit.

Sent while I should be doing something else

I looked on the tech form and is says driver side front to back 5-6-4 ?

That's the coil pAck sorry

Just like this:

4.0L Firing Order
FiringOrder6a.gif

4.0L Engines Firing Order: 1-4-2-5-3-6 DIS Ignition System

yep that's the one I have. and just an update did a fuel pressure test and that's fine

If i remember correctly to do the intake you had to unplug a few wireing harnesses. make sure the are all plugged back in good and if so unplug and check to see if all pins are straight and not corroded. some times a pin will get bent over when plugging the back in. sounds to me like the injectors are not pulsing and that is one of the harnesses you would have had to unplug.

Just a thought
