4.0l fuel mileage

28 impg = 23 US MPG. Which is almost the max I got.

I got 22 US mpg with my 06 4.0 with 4.10 gears, and 4x4.

So you're numbers really aren't any better than anyone else's lol especially for being 2wd.
And unless you do 90% highway, they won't be. Not with that rear end. It isn't doing you any good unless you are strictly highway.

And don't use imperial mpg lol. No one uses that. Just throws people off.

what size tires are you running?

I have a 1996 SuperCab 4X4, 5 speed. bare bones, no frills. I bought this car second hand with 101,XXX on the ODO, now since the ODO broke, I am guessing that I have close to 200K on it siince I went about a year before I got it fixed. I use this as my daily driver since I bought it and its been a 99% highway driver ever since. Over the summer I can get a staggering 425-450 out of one tank of gas driving like I am Miss Daisy. 350ish when I am not. Over the winter months, that drops big time, since about mid-december, I have yet to break 375 or even come close to it and I drive like miss daisy all the time now and recently I had to do some work on the suspension and bearings since they nuked on me.

Man I have 4.10 with 30's and I keep the rpm around 2500 on cruse my best is 20mpg, but its normal 19mpg.
Well I think I might try 3.73, I have the front pig laying around and see how much better the mpg gets. I don't have plans on getting larger tires it's tall enought for me
