I just tried to put in the 4.0L into my 86 B2. I also put in the M50D trans which is larger on the gear shift top side. I had to cut the tunnel to get the new trans in. I am having difficulty in lining up the engine and the trans. The trans shaft need to be aligned with the engine. I can not get the engine low enough to line up with the trans. I am in the opinion that I need to get the trans up highter by cutting more of the tunnel. Has anyone else has this difficulty?
