The dipstick is fine, but the tube has rusted, broken in half, any recommendations ? I thought I read each year was very different thus you can just use any 4.0L tube, is this correct ? I believe mine is a 92.

I would think many years to be the same... but from different models they might change... just because of the different engine bay setups...

Did you get your engine out of an explorer?

Motor came from a ranger, but has junkyard writing on the intake that says 92 explorer, so I'm going to say yes explorer.

I bet one off of an explorer from 92 - 94 will work then. But grab the dip stick just incase. Then do an oil change and add the recommended 5 qts and see if its where its supposed to be at.

Get a tube and a dip stick if the dip sticks the same the tube probably is too if it fits in the same place looking at the pan helps too.

I wonder if I could buy a mr.gasket after market tube, trim it to be the same length as a factory tube and then use my factory dip stick in the mr.gasket tube ?
