any one put an auto tranny cammed motor in a 5 speed truck and notice much difference afterwards?the manual tranny cam is supposed to be advanced 10 degrees and i wondered it it makes the auto tranny cam softer on the top end?its probably not worth swapping cams in a used motor but i have a MT cam with 50,000 miles on it in really good shape that i could swap in.but then i think you'd need to replace the cam bearings if you swapped the cam.if the auto tranny cam had better bottom end torque then i think it would be a good compromise.what are you guyses thoughts?

the cam shafts in a manual and an auto transmission 4.0 is exactly the same grind....the timing comes from the PCM not the cam shaft.......

i've read some rebuilders use the same cams but ford did have two different cams for the open chamber ohv
