Hey guys here is my problem. My 93 4.0 has a problem getting started in the morning and after work in the afternoon. When I crank it up in the morning (which it cranks fine) and start up the road it acts like it won't take gas. If it was a carburated engine I would say it was flooding and lugging down. It will finally change gears but still nothing. I can move the gas pedal and no change in engine rpm's. But then about 100 yards or so up the road I can push the pedal down enough that the engine just seems to wake up. It might surge a little after that but basically from then on it runs normal. After work in the evening it does the same thing. Right now it is in a shop that I have used for over 30 years and they cannot find the problem. I have put a new pump, throttle position sensor and filter in it. They have checked the timing, idle control valve, cleaned the throttle body, checked the fuel pressure and I'm sure several other things. But the mechanic said the problem is that when the simptoms stop they can't find anything. Oh and the computer has no codes showing or stored. I've searched the threads and can't find anything that soulds like my problem. So any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
