just curious and i never thought about it till just now. Can a 4.0 push a 435 with a 205 behind it and dana 60's? I would assume yes because of the gearing of the 435 and 410's in the diffs, but I was just wondering.

It could turn that driveline just fine. The only issue would be bolting the tranny up to the 4.0. I don't think advance adapters makes that adapter kit anymore.

i knew that issue would arise and i'm on top of it. let me just tell you and everyone else. Dont mess with it. it is a royal PITA. Maybe its just the way I did it, but you really do not have many options. The way i'm making it work is completely custom. I coudn't even make a bundle and sell them if I wanted to, it would be way to much work. Not so much work, but finding the correct parts is what was a bitch.

i dont think advanced adapters ever made that kit.

one of my club members was producing them though, he shut down his shop as business is too slow.

the setup uses the aftermarket starter which s 400 plus bux, of course exaust mods.

the 4.0 itself is plenty enough to destroy dana 60 parts with the setup. its a good trail only setup, i would consider a od tranny for a streeter. you can pretty much run any windsor tranny behind the 4.0 with this setup. though any auto over a c4/5 may waste fuel.

4xfab is the defunct shop..gremlinstien is the screenname, if you bug him he may make you some units, like a group of you could stir his interest

see the way i'm doing is as follows;

2005 mustang v6, t-5 bell housing
stock slave, master cylinder, flywheel, pressure plate.
Custom clutch disk from Mcleod
Custom adapter from a backyard machinist
Custom bearing retainer for input shafts from same as above
Stock starter

With the use of the 05 stang bell housing, this allows me to utilize the stock starter, due to the fact that the 05 stang comes equipped with a 4.0.

HOWEVER, this removable bell housing is quite lengthy and because of this, I needed to find the longest input shaft dodge ever has ran in an np435. This is why a custom bearing retainer must be made, along with a custom 10" clutch disk, with a inch and 3/8's diameter input.

Sorry to rant, but my question has been answered. Thanks.

I am curious as to how 4x4 fab achieved his adapters.

i see. excellent idea.

the 4xfab is done with a crank spacer/adapter, bell adapter and 0 balance 300 six flex or flywheel.

real short setup and allows a standard clutch and ford tranny setup.

and because of the adapters the starter issues arise. though maybe flipped exaust could change that with oil pan mods, gouky probably would know that for sure. i will check. matt 8888 and gouky run that. it looked good too but i never studied the pan issues.
