4.0 Turbo

ok fair enough, but that is merely the to the letter specs of the rulebook. which goes into that much detail on everything.

read that paragraph you posted, other than simple integrity safety issues there is no "very strict" requirement on rotors (as previously alledged) but they did in fact have a twist restriction on the rotors (which i said, but theirs was measured in 1" increments in this) and a length restricton but that is equal to a 16-71 supercharger which is freakin' huge, there isn't even a restriciton on what the rotors can be stripped with, mine had teflon strips on the sides, and nylotron strips on the apexes.

how did this "new" style blower not meet these simple requirements?

top fuel man, 6,000hp thats 5x the "1200" you're talking about no turboes, did you honestly think i was talking about a mere 1200 horsies when i said "absolutely highest hp engines"? i'm the owner of a 1600 which hp car whch isn't even that much, but to say that 1200 is the absolutely highest hp, is a joke
More like 7000-8000?

Probably has something to do with NHRA rules, no reason a twin turbo top fuel engine couldn't make as much or more HP, they say just to drive the blower on a top fuel engine takes like 700hp.

it has been tried, there was a guy with 4 turboes that put a lot into it, it took so long to spool the turbo, it took so much fuel (top fuel uses 35+ gallons per minute just idling) that he needed a secondary methanol tank to run the engine on to spool the turboes at which point he switched it to nitro and he still ran much, much slower, it was a funny-car with a honda civic body.......purple and green the discovery channel did a documentary on him, and his attempts to make a turbo feasible against its sc counterparts

on paper it is possible.......in real world applications it hasn't been equalled with a turbo yet,

and if they make 7,000 hp, and the parasitic loss is 700 hp that is 10%....not bad in my book, and that is better than the 92% that people on this thread have claimed to be true
