So the time has finally come the 4.0 is out of the truck and off to the machine shop. specs 410 comp cam, Morana 1.6 roller rockers, .30 over bore, 97TM heads on a 93 block, ported and polished heads, valves are going to be bigger not sure on the size waiting for the call from the machine shop to let me know what my options are, headers and all the little bolt on stuff. Now my question is I feel like the engine will need to be tuned to run correctly last thing I want to do is lean this thing out and grenade it shortly after its done. What are my options or am I over thinking this.
Sorry if this is the wrong section. If more info is needed let me know.

In case anyone was wondering powertrain dynamics in Ca can tune early ranger 4.0s

Be advised that 94 and earlier pistons with 95 and up heads increases the compression on this engine. In 95 the combustion chamber was made smaller, and the piston re-dished to keep the 9:1 compression. If you didn't change your pistons out you may need higher octane fuel.

what type of numbers were they able to pull out of it?
Not sure yet truck hasn't made the journey yet once it does I will update with numbers.

That was the idea behind the head swap plus the new castings and all this good stuff. The truck should still be fine on premium and if not so be it its not a daily driver

I was just making sure you knew. Not everyone does, and not everyone pays attention to interchanges. I knew a guy who swapped heads because he had them, didn't know, and cracked the new ones because he didn't pay attention.
