4.0 Swap

Ok...the motor is sitting in the mounts, a lil hold up I wanted to check to see if I needed to use the spacer for in between the block and bellhousing. And If I can use the 2.9 Flywheel and converter. I'm almost positive I need to use the spacer but....if I need to use it should I get the 4.0 one ?? Cause the oil pan on the 4.0 makes it to where the lil inspection door won't open. it all seems like it should go together but before I get too far I wanted to check ? Oh and I'm using the 2.9 A4LD trans as I just had it rebuilt and it didn't have 100miles on it before the bearings went in the 2.9...dumb shit luck
 
I don't think I use the spacer, don't think its necessary.
 
You will need to use a 4.0 torque convertor. The 2.9 will not work properly, different stall speed I would imagine.
 
It'll work, it just shifts differently, but that would explain a few things.
