4.0 swap question

Hey all

Ok so I am going to pull the 4.0 out of my '97 ranger, re-build it with a new cam and lifters, bearings and rings and probably clean up the intake and head ports to improve flow. Where is the best place to get an aftermarket cam for that vintage 4.0? Another question is I am gonna put that engine in my '89 BII that i recently put a M5OD in and can I get rid of the downstream O2 somehow or would that fawk the computer up big time? The '97 4.0 also has an EGR system and I would love love to get rid of that but figure that doing so would really screw it up. Any hints on simplifying the 4.0 and making it perform better would be great.

the only place i know of for a cam is summit racing , they have 2 available , if you are looking for a basic upgrade without a lot of mods go for the 410 cam , if you are willing to do alot of mods go for the 422 cam

are there any rocker mods available or am I stuck with the stock set up? I am willing to do the mods for the bigger cam but just havn't figured out what other mods are available. any web sites that have info or devoted to 4.0?

An OBII swap into a '89 BII?

I think I remember AllanD saying once that even He wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole...

I guess if you swap EVERYTHING you should be fine.

However, You could eliminate the after cat 02 and the egr, but you'll need the wiring/computer 'n such from an OBDI vehicle...preferably an early Ranger or Explorer (90-92), which would also make this swap 100 times easier, as a lot of it is quote 'Plug and Play', but not ALL of it.
