I basically gave up on this for a year. And this summer I pulled it out of mothballs and got it running! Last week, I installed a new 93-94 explorer hydraulic clutch, new slave cylinder, new flywheel, new clutch disc, and new various fittings. Everything new.
Bench bleed the hydraulic cylinder and attached hoses, and then hooked it up via the quick connector and bled the slave cylinder. the normal amount of air bubbles came out.
I tried to take it for a test drive, but I couldn't get it into 1st gear, or any gear. If I really pushed on the shifter, the vehicle would kind of roll forward an inch or so, but would not go in gear. Clearly the clutch disc is not seperating completely from the flywheel.
I checked to see if everything was bled properly, and I believe it is. I ran an entire quart through it to be sure. Bench bled and gravity bled.
Because its in an 86 chassis, and a 93-94 explorer hydraulic clutch, is the pushrod the wrong size (from the clutch pedal)? How can I check?
