4.0 swap ahead

I haven't dug into the internet but is there many upgrades for a 4.0 motor ?
Theres really not unless you wanna pay out the ass for stuff from tom morana.

But he also has 2.9 power stuff.

the 4.0 is the upgrade.

i also put in or helped put in... mopar engines.....every common ford engine.... pontiac engines...cummins......volvo...isuzu and some various other shit.

the engine in my truck is a detroit diesel. an actual...made at detroit diesel...detroit diesel.

sure it went in chevy trucks. boats. every fawking hummvee. and about 20 applications total i know of.

i own a 4.0 bronco. i have owned several 2.9-350-302 broncos.

pj's 2.9 is absolutely wicked bad ass.

i have seen it in person. but it is not for the uninitiated. your not going to find one like it ready to go.

I'll try to speak my best Detroit:

you ok mang

This is what I have read. Thank you for the clarity.

I give the 4.0 shit because it's lazy. You can make more torque on a 4.0 because of the long stroke, but more hp on a 2.9 because of revs. a little bit of work on balance and mains and a 2.9 will readily hold 7000 rpm. 4.0 can't see more than 5000.

Revs are fun to drive. Torque moves barges. Your decision.

But

Engine swapping to a bolt in is for p*ssies. Be a man. Put a real engine in. 302 is easy.

Grow a set and put a 460 in

Grow a 3rd ball and put a hemi in.

Grow a total of 8 balls and drop a Maserati F136 in.

Bmw M60 V12 fits

Shit throw a rotrax Cessna engine for all I care.

Plug and play is for p*ssies.

I built a 2.9 because others didn't. Not because it made sense. Because it would be insanely difficult. I like to learn, though. You may not. Idc. I did this because I was told it couldn't be done. FFS, I built and freehand programmed my own ECU to beat the factory fuel curve. I'm 10x the wrench I am now vs when I started.

Any idiot with a smartphone can engine swap to a bolt in.

It's an accomplishment to put something else in.

Be a man. Do math. Learn.

Just wondering why. I cannot turn my 33s very well past 60 going up a grade even at 5k rpms. I live in Knoxville Tennessee and it is very hilly.

more stroke.

Also don't fret, you know I'm just busting your balls. ??

Pretty sure if left unattended your truck would eat mine. ?

Why I’m doing a 4.0 swap instead of putting in the extra 2.9 I already have:

-My truck has 33/12.50/15 tires, 4.10 gears, locker in the rear. I have to stomp my 2.9, ride the clutch, etc when I’m in the woods. Sure, I can run up and down the highway and drag my 16’ Lowe boat, but that’s a different kind of power.

Why I’m not swapping in a SBF: I don’t want to snap axles, buy another transmission and transfer case, run new exhaust, etc.

I’m swapping in a 4.0 because I’ll be able to walk into any parts house and buy stock parts that are on the shelf, for cheap. With a conservative foot I’ll be able to keep my current drive train.
