do you think a 4.0 fly wheel will work on a 2.8? or will a 4.0 clutch set up work with a fm146 and m5od. also how about a rad from a 4.0...think that will work with a 2.8?

As far as I have read..

any 4.0 flywheel/clutch, etc stuff will bolt to the 2.8 block..just use the appropriate slave for the trans you have IIRC. Never done it yet but it seems a popular question. That makes a 2.6/2.8 the only carbed choice for a quick fit in anything running a 2.8, 2.9, or 4.0 it would seem

If it isn't the same the radiator is pretty close.

The 4.0 automatic Explorer's had a two row radiator, seems like at least V6wise everybody else got the same in a Ranger/Bronco II and Explorer that didn't have those options.

i do know that a 4.0 rad will work on a 2.9 with the 2.9 hoses. just wondering if it would work with the 2.8.

2.9 , 2.8 they are almost the same

it's the same engine, just bored out and extra meat added to spots that used to cause problems, just about everything from a 2.9 will bolt onto a 2.8L. and yes the hoses will work.
