4.0 sohc smoking

It appears to me that oil was getting past the intake gaskets on one side. Make sure you clean up the sealing surface and replace all the intake gaskets before you put it back together.

Another update, got the truck finished up today right around dark and started it and it ran smooth or at least as smooth as it always has before. It is still smoking blue/oil smoke. I drove it maybe 5-6 blocks and idled long enough to get up to temp. I didn't use paper for the blow by test on my oil filler but I used a condom and the oil filler cap was definitely pulling a vacuum and not exerting pressure. The condom was wanting to be sucked into the oil filler, I'm assuming this is proper and a good thing. How long would you all expect for there to be extra oil in my cats/muffler/manifold. I plan on driving it longer tomorrow to see if it's just excess that will burn off or if the smoking continues. I will say there is significantly less smoke than there was before and the truck has no mis firing or anything of that sort. Thanks for all the help so far.

Might take a few days and they need to be 10-20min drives to get Cats hot enough

This gives me a little more hope, thanks will comment again on it tomorrow at end of day

Think my problem is either solved or temporarily solved, driven about 350 miles now with motor running good and no smoke, even took it wheeling and camping this weekend, thanks all that commented for the diagnosing tips
