Everywhere I look it is said this motor will always have a balancer with the 4x4 but my 2005 doses not have a balancer within so WTF?

Who knows. Some guy put the wrong engine on the line. Or the engine was changed before you got it. Or??? Without it less junk in there to blowup.

No, that is wrong. Most Rangers I have done engine work on did not have the balance shaft. Some did, but most did not. Pretty much all Mustangs and Explorers have it though.

So if I ordered a long block and it has one would it matter? Would my upper oil pan/girdle work with the balancer?
