Has anyone pulled an OHV with the headers and transmission still attached?
I am planning on dropping the t-case regardless.

Reason I ask is, it would be faster, but dunno if it'll fit. There is no radius arm crossmember, and it is SASed.

Truck has seized header bolts and a blown transmission. Might get new heads while its out.

I have pulled a 4.0 out with the trans still attached, you'll need to remove the radiator fan, go at a steep angle, and have an engine hoist that goes pretty high.

It would probably be easier to take the trans off with the t-case attached. If the engine doesn't spin you can still pull an auto, just leave the converter on the engine and go as far back as you can before coming down.

K... Lemme rephrase the question.
I am not a noob, and am very experienced.

The question pertains to pulling a 93 OHV 4.0 from a 3rd gen with the headers, y-pipe, and transmission attached, without the transfer case.

I've pulled a 2.5 this way, the pipe and converter attached. That was tight against the evaporator housing, thus raised the question in my head, is there enough room?

If you are going to that much trouble ...PULL THE CAB. Takes under an hour. 6 bolts for the body. 1 bolt for the steering. You will have all the wiring disconnected anyhow if you are yanking the motor. You will be amazed how much easier it is to work on if you remove the cab. Also you can see and get to everything else that needs attention and you can clean and paint your frame.

Of course it helps if you have an overhead hoist. If your hoist is electric its a one person job.

We pulled the 4.0 out of a Gen 2 Expo with tranny and exhaust. We had to pull the radiator and fan but she fit. Same story on the B2 with the 2.9.

If you pull the upper intake off you can a better angle without hitting the firewall...

Buttt....those were autos and the trans isnt nearly as tall as the M5OD after the bell housing.

I would give it a shot for sure. I would also zip the three torx bolts of and pull out the stub for the shifter so it doesn't fight you the whole time.

I recently pulled my 95, with out the radius arms it will probably fit. I was tempted to put my y pipe and converters on but decided it would probably be to much trouble, but since you don't have the radius arms in the way I would be willing to bet it works.
