I have a 2000 Ranger with a 4.0. How can I tell which 4.0 I have?

i belive if its a 2000 you would have the 4L ohv engine

Usually I think they have SOHC on them for overhead cam and on ohv you can see there's no room for a cam or pulleys under the valve cover.

2000 Ranger = OHV engine. SOHC wasn't introduced to Rangers until 2001.
