4.0 Pushrods


Clattering for "30 seconds after you start" is NOT worn pushrods.

that's a lifter that's bleeding down when the engine is off.
It's rare, but meaningless.

Frankly? as tightassed as I am about some stuff on my truck my way of dealing with that would be to leave the stereo turned up when I shut the truck off so the noise would stop while I reached to turn the volume down.

The pushrod clatter is bad when the engine is cold, but NEVER
entirely goes away...

I think what I'll do is hurry up and ignore it.

Any additives that would help? I Seafoamed the oil a few hundred miles before I change it and the noise seems to go away...
