4.0 PCM question

Does the 97 4.0 PCM work with a 94 and down 4.0 motor?

(obviously using the 94 and down wiring harness)

No. The plug on the ecm doesn’t even have the same amount of pins. One is EEC-IV and the other is OBD2.
There’s a LOT more differences.
