4.0 not starting

i went to start my truck tonight, but it wont turn on , the dash lights up and all the accessories and the battery is charged but i noticed that i cant hear the fuel pump working, i was doing electrical (wiring lights) and forgot to un hook the negative, but now the truck wants to start but the fuel pump isnt working, is there a fuse that i may have blown? help is much appreciated, gotta 5 hour drive tommorrow , thanks

I would say you have a better than even chance of your fuel pump taking a dump.

check all the fuses and relays, make sure any anti theft device isn't disabling it. I have heard that sometimes you can get one to come on by taking a rubber hammer and whacking the gas tank with it while someone tries the key, but even if that does work, that pump can still crap out at any time (read: at 75mph in the middle of your 5 hour trip). If you can, get some help and pull the bed (15 minute job with two people, including yourself) and then change the fuel pump out if all other tests are satisfactory) If you can't get it done by the time you need to take the trip, I would borrow/ steal/ rent a car or take the bus...

i vote ur fuel pump is taking a dump if u want but i wouldnt recomend it unless ur good with electrical, u can hard wire ur pump to ur battery and see if ur pump works if it does i would check ur relay

Thanks for all the help guys, I finally get legitament answers as to ford ranger forums. I just remembered about hearing about some reset switch on the passenger side, so i reset it and now it works, anyways thanks for he great help guys!!
