4.0 Engine Swap help

I have a 97 Ranger 4.0 5 speed, motor is great. I also have a 94 Ranger engine not so great, it is an automatic. Is it easy to swap the engine from the 97 to the 94? What are the issues I need to be aware of?

I know the intake is different.

Just use the 97 long block and bolt all your 94 stuff to it. No problems.

Thanks for the response. The good motor is the 94, the bad motor is the 97. Can I still do the same thing i.e change the top end?

you ca little harder tho, take the whole wiring harness from the 94 ecu and all and get yourself some wiring diagrams and ssplice what you need, you can run manual tranny with an auto ecu
